Camp HorseAbility is a week long riding, learning, and fun-filled day camp for individuals with special needs. The camp benefits each and every camper with a unique equine-centered experience that brings together all the wonderful attributes of horseback riding - riding as recreation, sport, hobby as well as its therapeutic value! The camp takes place annually at the end of August
(Mon. - Fri.) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.

Each day is divided into six primary activities:

   • Horseback Riding
   • Indoor Sports
   • Outdoor Sports
   • Arts and Crafts
   • Swimming
   • Lunch and Playground/petting zoo/games

In addition to the periods listed above, the campers enjoy a wide variety of special activities. Some of the events may include a circus performance, magic show, carriage rides, DJ, horse show, karaoke sing-along, music, and
family-day B.B.Q.

All activities are individually tailored to meet the special needs of the camper and are offered in an encouraging and safe atmosphere, with success and fun as our guiding principles. The environment encourages each camper in a positive and patient manner specifically designed to strengthen not only the equestrian abilities, but also the physical, social and emotional capacities of our campers.

Transportation and lunch are provided by the parent/guardian. Because of the camp's extensive staffing requirements (two staff members per every camper), we have limited attendance to approximately 80 persons. To secure a space in the camp, you are encouraged to apply to as early as possible

In November of each year, HorseAbility holds its annual Casino Night Fund Raiser.  At this wonderful event HorseAbility announces the campers of the year.

The 2005 Camper of the year is:
Katherine Novelli

Call 516-367-1646 or email info@horseability.org for camp application.
