Our Herd

These incredible animals serve a multifaceted and dynamic role in the therapeutic riding/equine therapy. Our horses enhance the quality of life for hundreds of people in the course of their career. Although therapeutic horses come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and breeds they all share the same common characteristics; demonstrating consistent compassion, patience, kindness, and enthusiasm for working with our clientele.

AidenAiden is one of our UK Shetland ponies. Born in 2010 he was raised to year old grey mini. Aiden and his “sister” Pearl travel in the back of a minivan to visit nursing homes and hospitals and work as therapy minis, similar to therapy dogs!

Elf

Elf was born in 1998 and is a black Mini gelding. Elf has a background as a “Pony Party” pony, pulling a cart at birthdays and block parties. Elf has continued this career here at HorseAbility as a driving horse.

BearBear was born in 1998 and is a bay Quarter Horse/Pony Cross gelding. Out of all our horses, Bear is our longest standing herd member joining our team in 2007. Prior to his time at HorseAbility, he spend many years barrel racing and show jumping.…

Bear was born in 1998 and is a bay Quarter Horse/Pony Cross gelding. Out of all our horses, Bear is our longest standing herd member joining our team in 2007. Prior to his time at HorseAbility, he spend many years barrel racing and show jumping. He enjoys playing in turnout with his other pony friends Brody and Iceman. 

BrodyBrody was born in 1996 and is a buckskin Pony gelding. He had a long career as a a show pony before his career at HorseAbility. Now he has become a great mount for our riders.

Freedom

Freedom is a gelding born in Ireland in 1996. He is a Gypsy Vanner. This breed was developed for over half a century to create the perfect horse to pull the colorful Gypsy caravans Great Britain. This description, a Gypsy’s vanner horse, became Gypsy Vanner, and is now the name of the breed. And no, Freedom has never pulled a caravan!

Vincent

Vincent is a dark bay Belgian Warmblood gelding that was born in 1998. He came to us after a successful career as a show horse competing in the 1.45 meter jumpers- the only things bigger than the jumps he used to jump are his heart and personality.

PearlPearl is a chestnut U.K. Shetland. She was born in 2008, bred and raised like her “brother” Aiden to be a specially trained therapy pony. She loves attention and often falls asleep in the laps of people she visits with.

RennieRennie is a miniature buckskin gelding that was born in 2009. He is the smallest member of our herd- he is only about 2 feet tall! Rennie may be tiny but he has a big personality. At the farm he is continuing his training as a therapy pony.

Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown is a liver chestnut colored draft cross. He was born on New Year’s day in 2005! Before coming to HorseAbility, Charlie Brown was a carriage horse!

Mickey is a chestnut Tennessee Walker cross. He was born on Halloween in 2008. A fun fact about Mickey is that he has an extra gait called a pace.
