Mary Jo Mallon
PATH Certified Instructor
Mary Jo came to HorseAbility as a volunteer in summer of 2019. She has her BA in Computer Science and her MA in Secondary Math Education. She is a high school math teacher with summers off, grown children, and a lifelong love for horses. HorseAbility was the perfect place to volunteer. Mary Jo quickly fell in love with the magic of the horse, rider, Instructor, and the volunteer team enjoying the experience together, all playing an important role. Mary Jo started her journey to learn all she could by taking barn intern classes, riding lessons, and the therapeutic riding instructor course. She volunteered, worked in the barn, and taught some classes for the next two years. In September of 2023 earned her certification as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor. Mary Jo continues to further her education as an instructor, loves to ride and spend time in the barn caring for the horses.
